Drew Barrymore isn’t craving a taste of her old lifestyle.
The Santa Clarita Diet actress, 43, opened up about her childhood drug abuse during an interview on Netflix’s Norm Macdonald Has a Show which began streaming Friday.
Barrymore, who has been candid in the past about her addiction which began when she was 12, was asked by host Norm Macdonald if she missed cocaine.
“No. Oh, God. It’s been a very long time, but no,” Barrymore said. “Nothing would make me have a panic attack and seem like a bigger nightmare.”
The actress revealed she “never did hallucinogenics,” adding “that’s like a water bucket being thrown in your face but for hours.”
While Barrymore overcame her substance abuse she said she isn’t “militant” about her lifestyle.
“I drink, I enjoy my life and get out of my own head,” she explained. “It’s not that I’m this militant person of clarity and presence but [cocaine] literally seems like my worst nightmare right now.”
Barrymore broke out in Steven Spielberg’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982 and what followed was an extensive career as a child star that took a back seat to her personal struggles.
Of her early fame, the actress said it was “like a recipe for disaster.”
“You know what’s exciting? I got my s— over with at, like, 14,” Barrymore said. “Like, midlife crisis, institutionalized, blacklisted, no family. Got it done. And then got into the cycle of being my own parent.”
Despite her struggles, Barrymore has cemented herself as an A-list actress starring in a series of hits such as The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, Charlie’s Angels and Never Been Kissed.
She married longtime friend Will Kopelman in 2012. The two divorced in 2016 (they have two daughters, 5½-year-old Olive and 4-year-old Frankie).

Norm Macdonald’s new Netflix talk show is finally set to make its debut and the streaming service has unveiled a profanity-filled first look at the series.
In the preview for Norm Macdonald Has a Show the comedian sits down with a long list of stars, including Drew Barrymore, David Letterman, Jane Fonda, David Spade, Chevy Chase, M. Night Shyamalan, Michael Keaton, and Lorne Michaels.
Along with his sidekick Adam Eget, the Saturday Night Live alum asks such probing questions as “Do you miss cocaine?” to Barrymore and “Have you been thinking about your mortality a lot lately?” to Letterman. In between talking strip clubs with Judge Judy and Chase quipping that he “f—ed” Bob Dylan, there are plenty of clumsy on-set mishaps to enjoy.
First announced in March, series is based on his podcast/web series Norm Macdonald Live and is set to debut on Sept. 14.

Drew Barrymore has always been my favorite actress. EW.com gives us the good news that Santa Clarita Diet will premiere season 2 next month!
Hungry for more, um, flesh? There’s not long to wait; Netflix has set the season 2 premiere date for Santa Clarita Diet for late March.
When the flesh-eating zombie horror-comedy returns March 23, we find Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) attempting to maintain a some kind of normalcy in their lives while hiding the fact that people are going missing in the Californian suburb as Sheila feeds her need for blood and guts and they search for a cure for the zombie virus.
The new season also adds some recurring new faces and a bunch of guest stars, including Joel McHale, Gerald McRaney, Zachary Knighton, and Maggie Lawson. McHale and Lawson step into the shoes of Chris and Christa, a successful, type-A married realtor couple who expose Joel and Sheila’s competitive streak. Castle and This Is Us star Gerald McRaney also joins the cast as Ed Thune, a retired army colonel Joel finds intimidating, while Zachary Knighton plays a laid-back Serbian Californian on a ruthless quest to uncover the truth about the undead. The first season of Santa Clarita Diet is available to stream on Netflix now before the second season drops on March 23.

Drew did an interview with People to talk about her new Lingerie line for Anthropologie.
After successfully launching her beauty brand Flower Beauty over four years ago, Drew Barrymore debuted her timeless, classic and quirky Dear Drew fashion line through Amazon Fashion last fall. Full of vintage-inspired designs, modern takes on retro silhouettes and romantic accessories, it’s no surprise her newest launch of vintage-style lingerie is available at the beloved retailer, Anthropologie (and just in time for Valentine’s Day!). We caught up with Barrymore who spilled on the inspiration behind the four-piece lingerie collection, the secret to cute but comfortable undies and even offered up some advice on finding the perfect lingerie set for a loved one.
Why are you so excited to launch at Anthropologie?
I love Anthro for everything from shower curtains to furniture and art. Of course I love their clothes too, but it’s really more of a lifestyle for me.What makes a perfect lingerie set?
If it’s silky, then I like a little vintage style to it. It’s still very sexy while still being modest and stylish. And for cotton, I like it to be soft and luxe while being an everyday fabric.What was missing from the lingerie market that you really wanted to introduce with these intimates?
