Drew Barrymore to Receive CinemaCon’s Female Star of the Year Award

Variety has shared the exciting news that Drew is being recognized by CinemaCon as their female star of the year!

Drew Barrymore, who stars in Warner Bros.’ upcoming summer comedy “Blended,” is set to receive the Female Star of the Year kudo at this year’s CinemaCon.

In “Blended,” Barrymore stars alongside Adam Sandler, marking the third feature collaboration for the pair. The film follows the two as single parents who, after a disastrous blind date, find themselves vacationing at the same African safari resort. Warners will release “Blended” on May 23.

“Is there anyone who isn’t in love with Drew Barrymore, one of the most captivating and incredibly talented actresses of our time?” asks CinemaCon managing director Mitch Neuhauser. “Her career is simply remarkable.”

In addition to acting, Barrymore made her feature directorial debut in 2009 with the quirky roller derby comedy “Whip It.” She’s currently exec producing the reality series “Knife Fight” for Esquire Network.

CinemaCon, the annual exhibitor conference hosted by the National Assn. of Theater Owners, runs March 24-27 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
