EW.com gives us the good news that Santa Clarita Diet will premiere season 2 next month!
Hungry for more, um, flesh? There’s not long to wait; Netflix has set the season 2 premiere date for Santa Clarita Diet for late March.
When the flesh-eating zombie horror-comedy returns March 23, we find Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) attempting to maintain a some kind of normalcy in their lives while hiding the fact that people are going missing in the Californian suburb as Sheila feeds her need for blood and guts and they search for a cure for the zombie virus.
The new season also adds some recurring new faces and a bunch of guest stars, including Joel McHale, Gerald McRaney, Zachary Knighton, and Maggie Lawson. McHale and Lawson step into the shoes of Chris and Christa, a successful, type-A married realtor couple who expose Joel and Sheila’s competitive streak. Castle and This Is Us star Gerald McRaney also joins the cast as Ed Thune, a retired army colonel Joel finds intimidating, while Zachary Knighton plays a laid-back Serbian Californian on a ruthless quest to uncover the truth about the undead. Check out EW’s first look at the Rolodex of guest stars here.
The first season of Santa Clarita Diet is available to stream on Netflix now before the second season drops on March 23.
Drew did an interview with People to talk about her new Lingerie line for Anthropologie.
After successfully launching her beauty brand Flower Beauty over four years ago, Drew Barrymore debuted her timeless, classic and quirky Dear Drew fashion line through Amazon Fashion last fall. Full of vintage-inspired designs, modern takes on retro silhouettes and romantic accessories, it’s no surprise her newest launch of vintage-style lingerie is available at the beloved retailer, Anthropologie (and just in time for Valentine’s Day!). We caught up with Barrymore who spilled on the inspiration behind the four-piece lingerie collection, the secret to cute but comfortable undies and even offered up some advice on finding the perfect lingerie set for a loved one.
Why are you so excited to launch at Anthropologie?
I love Anthro for everything from shower curtains to furniture and art. Of course I love their clothes too, but it’s really more of a lifestyle for me.What makes a perfect lingerie set?
If it’s silky, then I like a little vintage style to it. It’s still very sexy while still being modest and stylish. And for cotton, I like it to be soft and luxe while being an everyday fabric. What was missing from the lingerie market that you really wanted to introduce with these intimates?
I like when lingerie is timeless. I also want it to be demure and tasteful…not too provocative or novelty. For people looking to buy lingerie for their significant others on Valentine’s Day, what’s your advice on finding a great set for someone you love?
Get them something that is not just for him, but for her as well. Women do not want to stand there feeling vulnerable. We are so much more confident when we feel sexy rather than playing an oversexed fantasy.Best Valentine’s Day date ideas?
A girl party if you’re single. I’m thinking pajama party with champagne, pizza and Netflix! And for couples, an old revival theater for a date…and bring wine and paper cups and make out to an old black-and-white movie.Any tips on finding a well-fitting bra?
To be perfectly honest, my favorite part of the day is when I take it off and throw on really thin worn-in clothes and get cozy. What’s the secret to a perfect pair of comfortable but cute undies?
It’s the material and fit. There is a way to make comfort very cute! Why should you invest in a cute pair of silk PJs?
Silk is the most movie star feeling ever, so treat yourself whether it’s for your mate or just you!

EW.com has shared that Drew has been cast in a new film!
We’ll be getting double the Drew Barrymore in her next movie. Following her role on Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, the actress has landed dual parts in a new romantic-comedy, The Stand-In.
Directed by Silicon Valley executive producer Jamie Babbit and written by Sam Bain, the film sees a washed-up actress (Barrymore) hiring her unemployed stand-in (also Barrymore) to complete court-ordered community service when she’s busted for tax evasion. Soon, she starts using her double for all other aspects of her life, which leads the stand-in to take over her identity, her boyfriend, and her career.
Barrymore, who’s been just as active behind the camera as she has in front, will also produce the film with Ember Truesdell, Chris Miller, and Nancy Juvonen-Fallon through Flower Films. Tom McNulty will also produce for Exchange.
The Stand-In marks the latest big-screen feature from Babbit since 2015’s Addicted to Fresno. With the cult hit But I’m a Cheerleader under her belt, she has largely moved into the TV realm, directing episodes of HBO’s Girls, FXX’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Fox’s The Orville, and Netflix’s Girlboss.
Barrymore, meanwhile, is planning her return for season 2 of Santa Clarita Diet, which was announced in March.
