Drew Barrymore reveals her girl crush and how long it actually takes her to get ready!

Sure, she’s married to a handsome art dealer, but Drew Barrymore admitted she’s got a tiny crush on someone else.

“Emma Stone. She’s the greatest. There are many women I find beautiful – but Emma Stone,” Barrymore dished at an event for her Flower Beauty line. “I met her a few times. I think she knows I have a secret girl crush.”

The stunning star, 40, who shares two adorable kiddos with husband Will Kopelman, says her husband has his own way of admitting he’s got a crush on her though. “He’s always very complimentary when I don’t wear any makeup. And he always says, ‘You do your own makeup so well’ when I do. ‘And I am always like thank you!'”

The busy mom confessed that while her beauty line for Walmart, which now boasts eyewear, fragrance, and makeup collections, has been a massive success – she rarely has time to get gussied up when she steps out, let alone pile on makeup.

“I don’t wear makeup every day, I don’t wear makeup most days. But that has nothing to do with how I approach my makeup line,” she shared. “Five minutes [to get ready] is a luxury, two minutes is reality, 30 seconds is the norm.”

Although even with limited time, she’s got an immediate trick to kick up her sexy factor –“Red lips and high heels! It’s an immediate transformation. It’s crazy evolution in two seconds,” she gushed. The Rose Bud and Cactus Flower lip colors from her Flower line are total musts too if you want to steal her look. “Rose Bud is a universal red.”

We have to admit – that’s one tip we can’t disagree with.

‘I’m Not a Lifestyle Expert’

Drew Barrymore is a mom-of-two, an A-list actress, producer, beauty brand owner, and, most recently, a wine entrepreneur. But one skill that she’s yet to add to her resume? Cooking.

“I’m just not perfect in the kitchen,” Barrymore, 40, tells PEOPLE. “But I’m getting there slowly.”

So what does Barrymore make for her growing family with “different tastes?” “Salmon and veggies are regular at my house,” she says, adding that daughters Olive, 2 1/2, and Frankie, 14 months, are big fans of the fish.

And the actress — who is “very organized about the kids’ food” — always makes sure her two little ones “eat really well.”

“They get protein, starch and veggies, and I always balance it out,” she says. Another staple the former longtime vegetarian likes to whip up in the kitchen? “I can grill a mean steak now,” she shares.

The star’s culinary skills are also on full-display during Sunday dinners with friends. “My girlfriends and I cook a lot on Sunday nights together and it’s a group effort. So I’m really good in a potluck situation and I’m really good at one-pot meals.”

But, Barrymore is the first to admit: “I’m not a lifestyle expert.”

“I’m still trying to get a dinner party together for the summer and trust me I won’t be cooking for it,” she explains, and the same goes for date nights—”I eat take-out with my husband, [Will Kopelman].”

Although she’s still coordinating her upcoming summer soiree, now that she has created her own wine—Barrymore by Carmel Road Pinot Grigio—she has already found the perfect recipe to pair with it: an apple, brie and arugula grilled cheese.

“I like the idea that this was really kid-friendly if you did it with just brie and apple,” she explains about creating the recipe. As for a wine substitute for the little ones? Barrymore suggests apple juice.

Drew Barrymore Does Not Regret Flashing David Letterman in 1995: “We Developed a Really Fun Chemistry”

It’s not easy to ruffle David Letterman’s feathers.

Twenty years ago, Drew Barrymore managed to do just that. In fact, people are still talking about the actress’ infamous striptease. When Barrymore appeared on CBS’ The Late Show on Apr. 12, 1995, she hopped up on Letterman’s desk, performed a sexy dance, flashed her breasts and gave the host a kiss on the cheek. “You know, I can’t thank you enough for that,” the birthday boy said.

Letterman’s final episode airs tonight, and to celebrate his 33 years of hosting a late-night talk show, Barrymore is dishing on the bond she developed with him since then. “He’s always been known as the person who had no problem letting the audience know he was not down with what the guest was doing,” the actress tells Entertainment Weekly of her experience as a guest. “It was scary.”

“From the moment I went on—especially with my little dance number, which was completely spontaneous and not calculated in any way—he let the audience know it was OK. He was so accepting of me, and letting everyone know to go on the ride.”

Barrymore’s future appearances on The Late Show were less risqué, but the movie star enjoyed her banter with Letterman all the same.

“From that infamous show, we developed a really fun chemistry. Then I just looked forward to going back. There’s an energy to his show. The more you tried to charm him, the less he wanted it. He either liked you or he didn’t. When you usually go on a talk show it’s very buddy-buddy,” the Never Been Kissed star, 40, explains. “But with him you have to work for it. But not too hard, because he won’t like that!”

For Barrymore, late-night won’t be the same without Letterman.

“It always struck me as what a serious guy he was. However, when I had the crazy notion to dance on that man’s desk…He had a great sense of humor. It was a weird spontaneous moment. He went with it,” the Big Miracle actress recalls to USA Today. “He let everyone know it was OK to let it be joyous and silly and fun.”

Drew Barrymore Looks Sweeter Than Ever While Gushing Over Her Kids

E!Online interviewed Drew at Kids Safe Day where Drew talked about Safe Kids and about Frankie’s first birthday.

Drew Barrymore loves being a mom times two.

“I just think it’s even better!” the 40-year-old beauty gushed to E! News in Los Angeles on Sunday at an event benefitting Safe Kids Worldwide when asked how parenting is different now that she has two kids. “Your heart just grows bigger. And you worry, ‘Oh gosh how am I going to split my love?’ And there’s just so much to give it’s not a worry.”

The actress welcomed daughter Frankie, her second child with husband Will Kopelman just over one year ago. The happy couple is also parents to three-year-old daughter Olive.

“Safe Kids has really changed my life in the way that I have information that is crucial to keeping my kids safe,” Barrymore revealed, sharing her support for the organization. “Whether it’s ‘When do you change the car seat to rear facing to front facing? Or you don’t leave the pan handle where your kid can grab it, you never take your eyes off your kid in the bathtub’ and these are not things that I think girlfriends are not always chatting about.”

She added: I think it’s so important to know everything and then the fun ensues. Worry without knowledge is bad worry.”

Most recently, Barrymore celebrated her youngest child’s first birthday with a party at the family’s Los Angeles home. “We actually had a party for her because funny enough, for all the kids’ birthdays we were always traveling…so this one was actually at home and it felt very traditional,” the doting mama shared “This year I did the Magnolia Bakery cupcakes and we got the “Let’s be Frank” hot dog trunk and put an ‘i-e’ at the end for “let’s be Frankie.”

Birthday parties aside, Barrymore also expressed her excitement for the birth of Kate Middleton’s second child and couldn’t help but share her admiration for the duchess.

“I love Kate Middleton, too, by the way,” she gushed before she was asked to share any parenting tips. “She’s so full of grace I’m sure she will be absolutely fine.”

Two Kids Is ‘Even Better’ Than One

Drew Barrymore is a busy lady.

With a huge movie career, a production company and her Flower Beauty cosmetics line, her number one focus these days is her daughters, Olive, 2½, and Frankie, 1, with husband Will Kopelman, 38.

For Barrymore, 40, one of the most important and challenging things about being a mother is watching out for her daughters’ safety.

“I think as a parent sometimes I feel very overwhelmed with all that there is,” she told PEOPLE at Safe Kids Day in Los Angeles.

Even with all of the worries, Barrymore is loving being a mom to two adorable little girls. “Two is even better than one. I can’t believe it,” she shares.

When asked how Olive is handling her big sister duties, Barrymore says, “She’s great. She’s awesome.”

With two young children to take care of, one thing Barrymore isn’t worried about is getting back to her pre-baby weight. “I think it’s crazy to worry about that. It takes nine months to build, it takes nine months to unbuild, at best,” she explains.

Barrymore isn’t letting the media or anyone else’s opinion of her post-baby body get to her. “We just have to take pressures off,” she says. “They’re so silly and ridiculous. It took a year and I’m not even there, but it’s fine. I’m so okay with that.”

As for her daughters’s recent milestones, Frankie just had a big one — her first birthday was Tuesday! — but Barrymore is hoping to add another one to the list soon. “I’ve been up all night doing sleep training,” she says.

Drew Barrymore, star of the upcoming film Miss You Already—and creator of Flower Beauty—shares her personal truths.

Her favorite feature: My hair. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I destroy it time and time again, and it’s still there, semi-happy. I love playing with it; it’s like my personal plant—I keep getting to prune it.

Her favorite look on a man: I love beards. They’re the sexiest. But I will say that under no circumstances is a goatee OK. And soul patches are insanity! What is that all about?

Her signature look: I feel perfect when I match my cheeks to my lips. It brightens up my whole face, that monochromatic color splash.

Her body wisdom: After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff! It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself. You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird. But you think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children. When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself.

Her desert-island essentials: I’m lost without Aquaphor Healing Ointment [$8, at drugstores], as lip balm and for every other odd emergency. I’ll give anything not to have a zit, including buying Christine Chin’s Hydrating Toner [$28, christinechin.com].

Her selfie secret: You don’t always have to look stunning on Instagram. I’ve been makeupless, pregnant, and stuffing food in my face in many pictures; that makes it all the more exciting when I do do something more attractive. Drew Barrymore Has Tricks That Will Change Your #COMMUTERBEAUTY Game

Drew shared with Marie Claire some of her best beauty tips!

You know that beauty myth that guys hate a red lip? Drew Barrymore is here to tell you it’s not true. And if you’re still hesitant, she has a few suggestions. (PSA: We should all be subscribing to the Barrymore Beauty Bible.)

There are many things we’d love to bend Drew Barrymore’s ear about. There’s style, which she’s got in spades. There’s music—she has immaculate taste and has even penned lyrics for fellow cool girl Jenny Lewis. There’s boys, because she taught us a sacred lesson: He’s just not that into you. And then there are the tall tales that come with being a Hollywood star for over three decades…

But still, if we could only choose one topic for a Barrymore heart-to-heart, it’d be beauty. With her line Flower Beauty, she’s not only brought luxe and affordable botanical-infused products to the masses, but has done so with a fun, real-girl MO that’s just so refreshing. Whether she’s painting her nails on the subway (#commuterbeauty), easing our mind about our product-hoarding tendencies, or waxing poetic about the perfect shade of red, she just gets us.

In advance of launching her Spring 2015 collection, we chatted with Barrymore about her tried-and-true beauty tricks, handbag essentials, and hacks for doing your makeup en route.

Marie Claire: What are your most sacred beauty secrets?
Drew Barrymore: 1) Eye brightening! Undereye concealer just isn’t enough, so we created a brightening primer (Flower Lighten Up! Brightening Concealer Click Pen, $7.98). Instead of try to patch-up a dark spot, brighten it. Reflect out. Stop covering it up!

2) Brows are everything. I’ve started working from a kit rather than a pencil because it’s not just one color all year long for me. If I’m wearing a dark lip, I want light brows. If I’m wearing a light lip, I want dark brows. I also change the color of my hair, and that changes what color I want for my eyebrows. Plus, it has a taming wax I love because it makes brows dewy without being greasy.

3) My biggest criteria is lips that don’t feather. Whether it’s a lip balm, lacquer, or a stick, an anti-feathering formula is what I want and what I put in the line. It’s the most expensive from a lab perspective because it works better. It’s so important to have that experience for your lipstick.

MC: What skincare ritual do you swear by?
DB: Washing your face morning, noon, and night—most especially after those long nights. Fall asleep with your makeup on and you’ll wake up doomed is my philosophy.

MC: When it comes to carrying around products in your purse, are you a minimalist or a hoarder? We’re totally the latter.
DB: I hate a heavy bag because I carried one around for 40 years, and now I’m trying to lighten it up. And now I have a diaper bag, so that changes everything… But I always have a dark and nude lip, a concealer and a powder, and something for the eye, whether it’s an eyeliner or a mascara. What it really comes down to is something for eye, lips, and face. You can really get away with three things, but I like to double up and have the opposite sides of the spectrum for each product.

MC: We love and can seriously relate to your #commuterbeauty hashtag—what’re your best tips for beauty on the go?
DB: Just today I did my mascara in the rearview mirror of an Uber going to my next appointment. So a rearview mirror is really great—but only if you’re a passenger. You cannot do it as a driver. [Laughs] Safety first!

I think the most important thing for commuter beauty is finding innovative ways to find a reflection that you can do your makeup in. So, think the window of a subway or a spoon at a dinner table. I always judge a restaurant by whether or not they have a clean knife because it’s the best mirror.

MC: And what about painting on a cat eye in a moving vehicle—that’s kind of our thing…
DB: Wait for the stop!

MC: Your February 2014 MC cover got nominated for a National Magazine Award! What set it apart from other cover shoots you’ve done?
DB: You know, having a beauty company, I love tight shots on a cover. And I think people love it too. It’s so eye-grabbing and yet magazines are doing it less and less. So I applaud Marie Claire because we really pushed for it as we wanted it to be about the beauty.

MC: And remind us what smashing Flower shade you were wearing on the cover?
DB: Rose Bud!

My Daughter Olive Said Her First ‘Oy Vey’

I thought this was so cute! Will & Drew are having Olive learn Hebrew and Drew shares about her girls with People.com.

Drew Barrymore‘s daughters are meeting milestones every single day, but 2-year-old Olive‘s most recent memorable moment might be one of her cutest yet.

“[She said] her first, ‘Oy vey.’ That made me happy, ” the actress told PEOPLE at The Daily Front Row’s inaugural Fashion Los Angeles Awards on Thursday.

According to the founder of Flower cosmetics, her toddler’s language skills are equally impressive. “My daughter counted to three in Hebrew today,” Barrymore, 39, shares. “She was learning [Hebrew] this morning so I was proud of her.”

As for her strong bond with 9-month-old Frankie? Well, Olive excels at being a big sister, too.

“She’s really sweet,” says Barrymore. “Whenever Frankie cries, she always goes, ‘Don’t worry, Frankie. It’s okay.’ That’s very sweet.”

But like any siblings, the mom of two admits sometimes Olive can love Frankie a little too much. “She’s a sister so she also tumbles her around way too hard,” she jokes. “I think every mom has the same experience with their kids.”
